This $500,000 Project Grant was awarded on October 1, 2024 by the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women under the Consolidated And Technical Assistance Grant Program to Address Children and Youth Experiencing Domestic and Sexual Violence and Engage Men and Boys as Allies (CFDA 16.888). The National Center for Economics (DBA Illinois Youth and Family Services) will use the funding over 36 months to serve vulnerable youth aged 11 to 24 in Joliet, Illinois. Key activities include: 1) Offering counseling, crisis intervention, and victim advocacy services to youth and their families; 2) Developing and delivering prevention education programs targeting youth, caregivers, and community organizations; 3) Establishing partnerships with local agencies, law enforcement, schools, and healthcare providers to enhance coordination and response efforts; and 4) Engaging in community-wide awareness campaigns and events to promote understanding and support for youth affected by domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and sex trafficking.
