Justice for families project

The Mariposa Center For Safety will provide services to support families in the justice system under a $550,000 Project Grant award from the Department of Justice Offices Boards and Divisions Office on Violence Against Women. The grant falls under the Justice Systems Response to Families program (CFDA 16.021), which aims to improve responses to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking by all components of the justice system.

From October 2021 through September 2024, the Mariposa Center For Safety, operating as the YWCA of Pueblo, will utilize the funding to deliver programs and services focused on assisting families impacted by the justice system. While specific activities are not outlined, the grant's purpose aligns with the federal program's goal of enhancing coordination between victim advocates and system professionals to improve safety and support for victims and their children.
