Pine River Area Schools, a local government school district in Le Roy, Michigan, will use the funding to improve security at schools and on school grounds through measures including coordination with local law enforcement, metal detectors, locks, lighting, alarm systems, and expedited emergency notification technology. The award covers a three-year period of performance from October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2028, with place of performance in Le Roy, Michigan. The School Violence Prevention Program provides funding to states, units of local government, Indian tribes, and their public agencies to advance school safety through evidence-based programs tailored to individual school needs. Award recipients must submit semiannual programmatic performance reports and quarterly federal financial reports, and must participate in COPS Office monitoring activities including site visits and compliance reviews. Extensions beyond the three-year term are available on a case-by-case basis for up to 12 additional months upon COPS Office Director approval.

Funding under this award program will be used by the school jurisdiction to implement evidence-based programs to improve school security.
