The saddle brook township police department respectfully seeks $43,900 in funding to support its pursuit of professional law enforcement accreditation

This initiative reflects sbtpd commitment to institutional excellence, transparency, and community trust through the adoption and implementation of nationally recognized standards for policing. The requested funds will enable the department to engage in the comprehensive preparation, training, and documentation required to achieve initial accreditation through a recognized accrediting body. Grant funding will be used to hire a dedicated accreditation manager through lexipol to lead the agency through the multi-phase process, facilitate staff training on updated policies and best practices, purchase necessary accreditation management software, and cover associated fees for assessment and certification. In addition, resources will support the development of a department-wide policy and procedure review to ensure compliance with modern policing standards, particularly in the areas of use of force, community engagement, and officer accountability. This initiative will also include hosting mock assessments and preparing for final on-site evaluations by accreditation assessors.
