THE PROJECT WILL ADDRESS SPECIFICALLY IDENTIFIED GAPS FROM IDAHOS STATUTORILY REQUIRED THREAT AND VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT PROCESS. THE PROGRAM WILL USE EVIDENCE BASED SCHOOL SAFETY INTERVENTION THAT SUPPORTS THE FOLLOWING AUTHORIZED PURPOSE AREAS: COORDINATION WITH LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT: COORDINATION WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT S TO COMPLEMENT THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE SCHOOLS NEW SECURED ENTRY WAYS. CONTINUING DEVELOPMENT OF SECURE SCHOOL ENTRY WAYS TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE DELAY TO ALLOW FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT RESPONSE. PLACEMENT AND USE OF METAL DETECTORS, LOCKS, LIGHTING, AND OTHER DETERRENT MEASURES: REMODEL OF THE DISTRICT SCHOOL ENTRY WAYS TO PROVIDE A SECURE AND CONTROLLED ENTRY WAY TO ALL DISTRICT SCHOOLS. THIS PROCESS WILL ALSO SLOW BREACHING ACTIVITIES TO ALLOW STAFF DETECTION AND RESPONSE TIME. THIS WILL ALSO PROVIDE A SIGNIFICANT DELAY TO ALLOW FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT RESPONSE IN AREAS OF PROTRACTED LAW ENFORCEMENT RESPONSE TIME. THE CASSIA COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT WILL REPORT ON THE PROGRESS TOWARD IMPROVING AND IMPLEMENTING EVIDENCE-BASED PHYSICAL SCHOOL SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS, AS WELL AS EVIDENCE BASED OPERATIONAL CHANGES THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE GRANT PERIOD. THE PROJECT REQUESTS $735,000.00 WITH A 25 PERCENT LOCAL CASH COMMITMENT AND INVESTMENT OF AT LEAST $184,000.00.
