OVER THE YEARS WE HAVE HAD MANY INCIDENTS HAPPEN ON OUR CAMPUS AND SCHOOL GROUNDS. WE HAVE HAD PLACES BROKEN INTO WITH THINGS STOLEN FROM OUR SCHOOL. WE HAVE HAD OUR STUDENT'S PERSONAL PROPERTY STOLEN FROM THEIR CARS OR THEIR LOCKERS. WE HAVE HAD CRIMES SUCH AS VANDALISM OR DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY. WE HAVE SOME CAMERAS ON OUR CAMPUS AND HAVE BEEN ABLE TO CATCH SOME OF THE THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED ON CAMERA. MORE TIMES THAN NOT, WE ARE UNABLE TO SEE THE INCIDENT HAPPEN AND ARE UNABLE TO SEE WHO THE PERPETRATOR WAS. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING TO OUR STUDENTS, STAFF AND PARENTS. WITH OUR CURRENT CAMERAS ON CAMPUS, OUR SECRETARIES KEEP THE MAIN ENTRANCE CAMERA UP SO THEY CAN SEE SOMEONE COMING IN BEFORE THEY GET IN OUR BUILDING. AGAIN, MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, THEY ARE UNABLE TO MAKE OUT WHO IS COMING IN AND WHAT THEY MAY BE CARRYING WITH THEM. OUR PROPOSAL FOR THIS GRANT WOULD ENABLE US TO PURCHASE A SYSTEM THAT WILL ADD MANY MORE HIGH DEFINITION CAMERAS IN MANY MORE LOCATIONS SO THAT OUR CAMPUS IS FULLY COVERED BY SECURTIY CAMERAS. THIS WOULD ENABLE US TO FIND OUT WHO THE PERPETRATOR IS WHEN THERE ARE ILLEGAL ACTS HAPPENING ON OUR CAMPUS. IT WOULD ALSO ENABLE OUR FRONT OFFICE PERSONEL TO ACTUALLY SEE WHO IS COMING INTO OUR SCHOOL AND WHAT THEY MAY HAVE ON THEIR PERSON TO BE ABLE TO ALERT THE PROPER PERSONAL BEFORE THEY ENTER OUR BUILDINGS. WITH THE STATE OF SCHOOLS, THIS WOULD GIVE OUR FRONT OFFICE STAFF MORE PEACE OF MIND TO KNOW THAT THEY ARE NOT JUST SITTING DUCKS IN OUR FRONT VESTIBULES. OUR CAMERA SYSTEM HAS PARTS OF IT THAT ARE UP TO 20 YEARS OLD. MANY OF THEM ARE BLURRY AND ARE IN DIRE NEED OF REPLACEMENT IN ORDER TO BE BENEFICIAL FOR SECURING OUR FACILITY. WITH THIS GRANT WE WOULD BE ABLE TO PURCHASE A NEW CAMERA SYSTEM AND ADD ADDITIONAL CAMERAS IN PLACES THAT ARE NOT COVERED RIGHT NOW. IN ADDITION TO SECURING OUR FACILITY, WE WOULD PURCHASE CAMERA SYSTEMS TO SECURE OUR BUSES. WE WOULD BE ABLE TO USE THE BUS CAMERAS TO HOLD STUDENTS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS ON THE BUS THAT MAY ENDANGER OTHER STUDENTS OR MAKE THEM FEEL UNSAFE ON THE SCHOOL BUS FOR THEIR RIDE TO AND FROM SCHOOL EACH DAY. PARENTS ENTRUST US WITH THEIR CHILDREN FROM THE TIME THEY GET ON THE BUS UNTIL THE TIME THEY GET BACK OFF THE BUS EACH DAY. WE WANT TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR STUDENTS THAT NEED THAT TRANSPORTATION. WE WOULD ADD NEW CAMERA SYSTEMS TO ALL OF OUR BUSES WITH THE ADDITION OF STOP ARM CAMERAS SO STUDENTS ARE SAFE FROM TRAFFIC WHEN THEY ARE GETTING ON AND OFF THE BUS. RIGHT NOW, WE HAVE NO WAY TO KNOW FOR SURE WHO RUNS OUR STOP SIGNS OTHER THAN THE BUS DRIVER'S DESCRIPTION AND BEING ABLE TO FIND THAT PERSON AGAIN. WITH STOP ARM CAMERAS, WE WILL BE ABLE TO PROSECUTE ANYONE WHO RUNS THE BUS STOP SIGN TO DECREASE THE NUMBER OF THESE INSTANCES. WITH THIS GRANT WE WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE OUR SCHOOL A SAFER PLACE FOR OUR CHILDREN FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.
