Description
The purpose is to develop a comprehensive, evidence-based, integrated technology communication system at one pilot school site in order to respond more effectively to any critical incident (i.e., school shooting) occurring on campus. Project activities include building the technology infrastructure that accommodates an integrated model, purchasing the technology equipment that feed into the system, installing and testing the security camera, access control, and public address communication systems, as well as training all authorized and sharing project updates with the school community. Expected outcomes include the integrated security system completed at one school site to serve as a model for all other locations within the district, reduction of law enforcement response times to critical incidents on campus, increased prosecution of asset loss perpetrators, and reduction of calls for service at a school site.
