Description

Going through the accreditation process will allow our small university police department to take a deep dive into the policies and practices that we use to make sure we are following the best possible practices. Our goal is that by bringing in a university staff temporary employee to focus on this project, we will be able to complete the project more efficiently. Currently the accreditation manager has numerous other tasks including supervision, the emergency government program with its own set of standards and other administrative duties. We are working with the commission on accreditation for law enforcement agencies as our accreditation organization for the best practices. We are also getting assistance from an accreditation group in the state of illinois on setting up a successful accreditation program.
