Description
The commission on accreditation for law enforcement (calea) is designed to improve the delivery of public safety services, primarily by maintaining a body of standards developed by public safety practitioners covering a wide range of up-to-date public safety initiatives, establishing, and administering an accreditation process, and recognizing professional excellence. We are currently in the self-assessment stage at the state level of accreditation. We have contracted with palmetto executive solutions, LLC, a company with expertise in accreditation, for assistance in the state accreditation process. We will use this funding to pay for the cost of calea accreditation, training, travel, software, equipment, supplies, facility security improvements, and procurement contracts. We would also use the funding to extend our agreement with palmetto executive solutions, LLC into assistance with calea accreditation as well. The company will help with the implementation and enhancement of our project.
