Description
The walton county sheriff's office (wcso) has committed to expanding efforts to ensure members' mental health and wellness by enhancing and developing a more holistic wellness and resiliency employee assistance program (EAP). Grant funding will leverage local resources to expand program functions and services to improve the coordination of services. If awarded funds, wcso will seek reimbursement for costs associated with program expansion. The proposed project consists of four primary objectives, 1) create a centralized mental health and wellness resource center to improve coordination of services offered for agency members and immediate families, including mental health and wellness, financial education, and tuition reimbursement, 2) lower or eliminate member out-of-pocket costs associated with continuing counseling sessions beyond the agency covered EAP visits, 3) encourage members to seek mental health support while improving member buy-in and reducing mental health support stigma. The project will be managed primarily through the wcso administration division, with the mental health and wellness manager spearheading all tasks and activities. Wcso envisions a wellness and resiliency program that promotes a positive, innovative help-seeking culture by being a central resource point through partnerships, advocacy, and best-practice research. Awarded funds will expand and augment current program services to foster coordinated wrap-around assistance and resources.
