Description

Receiving the award from this grant will help to fund the personnel, technology, and resources needed to effectively recruit and then support enrolled departments through the process of achieving accreditation. IT is our goal to enroll and accredit an additional two sheriff's offices in the accreditation process during the two-year life of this award (an increase of approximately twenty percent). This is significant for new mexico and rural communities, as sheriff's offices have been reluctant to participate in an accreditation program in the past. Additionally, this award will fund training in crucial areas such as policy development that will support best practices in law enforcement. Receiving this award will allow nmac to continue using the momentum IT has built and enhance the accreditation program in the state of new mexico.
