The Lake Worth Independent School District was awarded a $273,217 project grant from the Department of Justice's Community Oriented Policing Services Office under the Public Safety Partnership and Community Policing Grants program. The grant will fund the district's implementation of evidence-based programs from 2022-2025 to improve school security and foster a positive learning environment through school safety initiatives and technology. As part of its School Violence Prevention Program, the COPS Office aims to enhance security at educational facilities in collaboration with community stakeholders. Funds will support the Lake Worth Independent School District's efforts to develop school-community partnerships and apply problem-solving techniques to address public safety issues proactively.

Funding under this award program will be used by the school jurisdiction to implement evidence-based programs to improve school security and promote a positive learning environment for all students.
