The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration awarded $114,217 under the Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (SSVF Program, CFDA 64.033) to East Oakland Community Project on April 6, 2022.
The SSVF Program provides supportive services grants to organizations assisting very low-income Veteran families who are homeless, at-risk of homelessness, or transitioning to permanent housing. East Oakland Community Project will use the funding to deliver a range of supportive services, including outreach, case management, assistance obtaining VA and other public benefits, temporary financial assistance paid directly to service providers for needs such as childcare and housing stability, and optional services like legal assistance and financial management training. The goal is to help very low-income Veteran families obtain and sustain permanent housing.
