The Economic Development Administration awarded a $500,000 Project Grant to the Mid-Minnesota Development Commission on March 22, 2022 under the Economic Adjustment Assistance program. The grant will support the establishment of a revolving loan fund to provide capital to small businesses in four Minnesota counties impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and a coal plant closure. The revolving loan fund will lend to borrowers in Kandiyohi, McLeod, Meeker, and Renville counties to help businesses recover from pandemic losses and job/investment declines following the coal plant shutdown. By providing a critical source of financing, the revolving loan fund aims to further long-term economic adjustment, create and retain jobs, and attract private investment in the region.
