The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Administration for Children and Families has awarded a $14,208,186 five-year Project Grant (CFDA 93.600) to the non-profit organization Alta Care Group, Inc. The grant, effective from August 1, 2024 through July 31, 2029, will support the delivery of comprehensive early childhood education, health, nutrition, and family support services through the Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

The funding will enable Alta Care Group to provide educational programming, health screenings, nutritious meals, and parenting support services to low-income pregnant women, infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children in order to promote their school readiness and enhance their cognitive, physical, behavioral, and social-emotional development prior to entering kindergarten. As a sub-recipient, Alta Care Group has also received additional awards from the Ohio Department of Mental Health to complement the federally-funded early childhood initiatives with mental health support services.
