DESCRIPTION:KOYUKUK WILL USE GAP FUNDING TO ADDRESS PRIORITY ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS IN THE COMMUNITY. THE TRIBE WILL MANAGE THE GRANT AND ATTEND TRAININGS, CONDUCT HEALTHY HOMES OUTREACH, MANAGE SOLID AND HAZARDOUS WASTE, AND CONDUCT ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND OUTREACH IN A VARIETY OF WAYS ON OTHER ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES OF CONCERN TO THE COMMUNITY. ACTIVITIES:SPECIFICALLY, THE TRIBE WILL COMPLETE THE ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCIAL TASKS UNDER THE GRANT, ATTEND ENVIRONMENTAL AND GAP TRAININGS, AND COLLABORATE WITH THE YUKON-KOYUKUK CONSORTIUM; WORK WITH AILEEN GAGNEY FROM THE TRIBAL HEALTHY HOMES NETWORK ON WAYS TO IMPROVE INDOOR AIR QUALITY IN HOMES; MANAGE THE LANDFILL, COLLECT SOLID AND HAZARDOUS WASTE, BACKHAUL MATERIALS OUT OF THE COMMUNITY BY BARGE, AND ORGANIZE TWO COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP DAYS; AND INVOLVE YOUTH AND ADULTS THROUGH A SUMMER ENVIRONMENTAL CAMP, QUARTERLY NEWSLETTERS, A COMMUNITY MEETING TO GATHER IDEAS, AND WATER AND SOIL SAMPLING. SUBRECIPIENT:NO SUBAWARDS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT.OUTCOMES:DELIVERABLES WILL INCLUDE PROGRESS REPORTS, TRIP REPORTS, FINANCIAL REPORTS, MEETING NOTES, QUARTERLY NEWSLETTERS, POSTERS, A BACKHAUL INVENTORY, TRAINING CERTIFICATES, PHOTOGRAPHS, STUDENT JOURNALS, AND FEEDBACK FROM THE COMMUNITY ON ENVIRONMENTAL PRIORITIES. EXPECTED OUTCOMES INCLUDE MANAGEMENT OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCIAL ASPECTS OF KOYUKUK'S GRANT AND THE BUILDING OF CAPACITY RELATING TO IGAP-EPA PROGRAMS; HOME ENVIRONMENTS WILL BE HEALTHIER AND SAFER FOR RESIDENTS; AN EFFICIENTLY MANAGED LANDFILL WILL IMPROVE HUMAN AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH IN THE COMMUNITY; AND ENVIRONMENTAL AND PUBLIC HEALTH RISKS FOR CHILDREN, STAFF, AND THE COMMUNITY WILL BE MINIMIZED. THE INTENDED BENEFICIARY IS THE KOYUKUK NATIVE VILLAGE.
