DESCRIPTION:MCGRATH NATIVE VILLAGE COUNCIL WILL USE GAP FUNDS TO BUILD ADMINISTRATIVE AND PROGRAMMATIC CAPACITY FOR MANAGEMENT OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICE; INCREASE COMMUNICATIONS CAPACITY TO CONDUCT GENERAL PUBLIC EDUCATION, AWARENESS, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, AND INFORMATION EXCHANGE ON ISSUES RELATED TO HUMAN HEALTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT; AND BUILD SOLID AND HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT CAPACITY THROUGH SOURCE REDUCTION ACTIVITIES INCLUDING WASTE MINIMIZATION, RECYCLING, HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION, USED OIL COLLECTION, JUNK VEHICLE REMOVAL, AND ELECTRONIC WASTE COLLECTION.ACTIVITIES:ACTIVITIES INCLUDE MAINTAINING AN ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICE, ATTENDING RELEVANT ENVIRONMENTAL CONFERENCES AND TRAININGS, ENCOURAGING ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS IN COMMUNITY THROUGH QUARTERLY NEWSLETTERS/FLYERS, AND PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT'S (PSA'S), SPONSORING ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS ACTIVITIES WITH APPROPRIATE AGE GROUPS IN THE TRIBAL COMMUNITY CENTER, RECRUITING YOUTH IN GRADES 8-12TH TO DEVELOP AN ENVIRONMENTAL YOUTH GROUP, CONTINUING SOURCE SEPARATION ACTIVITIES, CONDUCTING AN EDUCATION/OUTREACH EVENT ON WASTE MANAGEMENT, AND BUILDING AN INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM (IWMP) AND LANDFILL OPERATIONS PLAN (LOP).SUBRECIPIENT:NO SUBAWARDS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT.OUTCOMES:ANTICIPATED DELIVERABLES INCLUDE QUARTERLY NEWSLETTERS/FLYERS, PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT'S (PSA'S), AN INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM (IWMP), A LANDFILL OPERATIONS PLAN (LOP), TRIP REPORTS, QUARTERLY REPORTS, AND ANY PHOTOS OF EVENTS.
