DESCRIPTION:THIS ACTION PROVIDES PARTIAL FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $64,000 TO SUPPORT JEFFERSON COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT (JCDH). THE PURPOSE OF THIS GRANT IS TO SUPPORT THE MONITORING OF PM2.5 POLLUTANTS IN AND NEAR COMMUNITIES AT EXISTING PM2.5 AIR MONITORING SITES. THE ACTIVITIES INCLUDE THE AIR QUALITY MONITORING MANAGER'S CONTINUED WORK ON PM2.5 MONITORING, APPROXIMATELY 1450 PM2.5 FILTERS ANALYZED FROM EXISTING SAMPLERS, PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT PARTS AS NEEDED TO REPAIR EXISTING EQUIPMENT. THE ANTICIPATED DELIVERABLES INCLUDE 0.25 FTE OF WORK ON PM2.5 DATA COLLECTION AND QUALITY ASSURANCE; ANALYSIS OF APPROXIMATELY 1400 PM2.5 FILTERS; PM2.5 EQUIPMENT PARTS FOR IN-HOUSE REPAIR; QUARTERLY REPORTS; AND A FINAL REPORT. THE EXPECTED OUTCOMES INCLUDE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF REGULATORY QUALITY PM2.5 AIR MONITORING DATA IN THE BIRMINGHAM AREA AND JCDH'S EVALUATION OF FEM EQUIPMENT'S ABILITY TO PROVIDE 24/7, REAL-TIME REPORTING OF REGULATORY AIR QUALITY MEASUREMENTS. THE INTENDED BENEFICIARIES INCLUDE THE COMMUNITIES IN BIRMINGHAM WITH EXISTING PM2.5 MONITORING SITES AND NEARBY AND OTHER COMMUNITIES THAT THESE SITES REPRESENT.ACTIVITIES:.SUBRECIPIENT:NO SUBAWARDS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT.OUTCOMES:.
