ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED INCLUDE WORKING ALONGSIDE RESIDENTS, COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND ORGANIZERS DURING MONTHLY WORKSHOPS AND MEETINGS. THIS ACTION APPROVES AN AWARD IN THE AMOUNT OF $75,000 TO SUPPORT THE 2C MISSISSIPPI: TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE, EDUCATED, AND EMPOWERED MISSISSIPPI (2CMISSTSEEM). ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED INCLUDE HEAT SURVEYS WILL BE CONDUCTED, PARTICIPANTS WILL EXPLORE CONCEPTS OF COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL COHESION, INCLUDING WAYS IN WHICH NEIGHBORHOODS CAN PREPARE FOR HEAT EMERGENCIES, ACCOUNT FOR THE MOST VULNERABLE NEIGHBORS, PROVIDE EACH OTHER WITH THE MOST EFFECTIVE SUPPORT AND PROVIDE TRAINING TO THE COMMUNITY. THEY WILL ALSO PROVIDE PARTICIPANTS WITH EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS AND LIVE DEMONSTRATIONS.
