THE NATIVE VILLAGE OF NOORVIK WILL BUILD CAPACITY IN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES WITH THE TRIBAL COMMUNITY. THE TRIBAL STAFF WILL ATTEND TRAINING AND FINALIZE A SOLID WASTE ACTION PLAN, BUILD EDUCATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR RECYCLING, LANDFILL SEPARATION, AND REUSE OF MATERIALS. THE TRIBAL COMMUNITY HAS EXPERIENCED MOLD ISSUES DUE IN PART TO CLIMATE CHANGE, IDENTIFYING TYPES OF MOLD AND RECOMMENDING REMEDIATION METHODS. STAFF WILL COMPLETE A MOLD, ASBESTOS, AND LEAD BASED PAINT NEEDS ASSESSMENT IN HOMES. THE TRIBE WILL UTILIZE THEIR PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MANIILAQ ASSOCIATION TO DEVELOP PLANS AND CONTINUE WATER QUALITY ASSESSMENTS AND TESTING.
