DESCRIPTION:THE PURPOSE OF THIS COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT IS TO PROVIDE FUNDING TO THE CENTER FOR ECOLOGICAL TECHNOLOGY (CET) TO CONDUCT THEIR FOSTERING RESILIENT WASTED FOOD SOLUTIONS PROGRAM.ACTIVITIES:THE FUNDS WILL BE USED TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT AN OUTREACH AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM TO HELP BUSINESSES IN PROVIDENCE COUNTY, INCLUDING THE MUNICIPALITIES OF CRANSTON, PROVIDENCE, SEEKONK, AND PAWTUCKET, USE SOURCE REDUCTION STRATEGIES TO MINIMIZE FOOD WASTE GENERATION. SUBRECIPIENT:NO SUBAWARDS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT.OUTCOMES:THE EXPECTED DELIVERABLES INCLUDE TONS OF AVOIDED SOLID WASTE GENERATION AND REDUCED METRIC TONS OF CO2 EQUIVALENT (MTCO2E) EMISSIONS. THE DIRECT BENEFICIARIES OF THESE ACTIVITIES ARE TARGETED COMPANIES WHO WILL REDUCE COSTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL LIABILITIES ASSOCIATED WITH FOOD WASTE MANAGEMENT AND GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS.
