DESCRIPTION:THE PURPOSE OF THIS COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT IS TO PROVIDE FUNDING TO THE NORTHEAST WASTE MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS' ASSOCIATION TO CONDUCT THEIR GREEN CLEANING AND DISINFECTING IN SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE PROJECT. ACTIVITIES:THESE FUNDS WILL BE USED TO EDUCATE JANITORIAL EMPLOYEES AND RESIDENTS IN ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE COMMUNITIES IN NASHUA AND MANCHESTER, NH ABOUT THE BENEFITS AND METHODS OF ADOPTING GREEN CLEANING PRODUCTS AND PRACTICES. SUBRECIPIENT:NO SUBAWARDS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT.OUTCOMES:EXPECTED DELIVERABLES INCLUDE THE TRAINING OF 12 JANITORIAL STAFF AT THREE PROFESSIONAL CLEANING BUSINESSES, IMPACTING MORE THAN 1,000 HOUSEHOLDS. THIS WILL RESULT IN THE REDUCTION OF APPROXIMATELY 70 GALLONS OF CONVENTIONAL CLEANING PRODUCT AND HAZARDOUS CLEANING SUBSTANCES. DIRECT BENEFICIARIES OF THESE ACTIVITIES ARE THE JANITORIAL STAFF WHO WILL AVOID EXPOSURE TO CHEMICALS THAT CAUSE ASTHMA AND CHEMICAL BURNS. RESIDENTS WILL ALSO BENEFIT FROM THE USE OF ENVIRONMENTALLY PREFERABLE CLEANING PRODUCTS.
