The Science Mission Directorate program supports competitive research across astrophysics, biological and physical sciences, Earth science, heliophysics, planetary science, and lunar exploration, evaluated on scientific merit, technical quality, personnel qualifications, facilities and resources, and cost reasonableness. Boise State competes in full-and-open competition and does not hold federal contract vehicles; it operates as a prime recipient on grants and cooperative agreements rather than through procurement contracting.
