About this award
This Project Grant award of $200,000 from the National Aeronautic and Space Administration (NASA) Shared Services Center supports work under the Science program of the Science Mission Directorate. The Seti Institute will develop challenges, recruit researchers and mentors, identify and prepare data, and conduct an 8-week program to address each challenge question using synthetic ultraviolet and extreme ultraviolet irradiance data from physics-based models and machine learning techniques. A sub-award to the Seti Institute will fund development of an application process and selection of researchers, onboarding and training, and coordination of a boot camp to resolve each challenge question through an 8-week program. The award period is from June 16, 2021 to June 15, 2022.
