The Department of Housing and Urban Development Public and Indian Housing Office awarded $297,095 to Danville Housing Company, Inc. (doing business as Danville Redevelopment & Housing Authority) on January 1, 2026, under the Public Housing Operating Fund (CFDA 14.850) formula grant program.
The award funds day-to-day operational expenses for public housing, including management and operations, routine and preventative maintenance, anti-crime and security activities, energy costs, resident supportive services, insurance, debt service, and administrative and program implementation expenses required under the 1937 Housing Act and program regulations. The recipient also receives support for modernization of information technology platforms that provide web-based access to real-time data on funding levels, occupancy rates, and families served.
