About this award

This federal Formula Grant award from the U.S. Department of Education provides $5 million to the Pennsylvania Department of Education under the Education Stabilization Fund (CFDA 84.425) program. The funding is for the period of March 24, 2021 through September 30, 2023 and will support efforts by the Department and sub-awardees to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic in Pennsylvania's elementary and secondary schools. At least 90% of the funding, or $4.5 million, will flow to eligible public school districts and charter schools proportional to their Title I-A funding amounts in 2020 to aid in education recovery from the pandemic's impacts. The remaining 10% of $500,000 will support intermediate units, career and technical centers, approved private schools for students with disabilities, institutions for delinquent youth, and other entities providing educational services.
