About this award
The Department of Education Office of Elementary and Secondary Education awarded the Department of Education New Hampshire $6.693 million on July 1, 2026, under the Student Support and Academic Enrichment Program (CFDA 84.424), a formula grant designed to improve students' academic achievement by increasing capacity of states and local educational agencies to provide well-rounded education, improve school conditions for student learning, and enhance technology use for academic achievement and digital literacy.
The award funds activities across three priority areas: well-rounded educational opportunities, safe and healthy students, and effective use of technology. New Hampshire, as the state educational agency, must reserve at least 95 percent of this allocation for subgrants to local educational agencies and schools, with not more than 1 percent available for state administrative costs. The remaining funds may support state-level activities including monitoring and technical assistance to LEAs. Local educational agencies receiving $30,000 or more must conduct comprehensive needs assessments and allocate not less than 20 percent to well-rounded opportunities, not less than 20 percent to safe and healthy student support, and a portion to technology use; LEAs receiving less than $30,000 must use funds in at least one of these areas. Individual LEA subgrants must be at least $10,000 and may be combined through consortia arrangements.
Performance runs through September 30, 2027, with place of performance at Concord, New Hampshire. Financial and program records must be retained for three years following final expenditure reporting.
