About this award

The Department of Education Office of Elementary and Secondary Education awarded a $6,515,398 Formula Grant through the Twenty-First Century Community Learning Centers (CFDA 84.287) program to the Department of Education New Hampshire. This program provides funding to establish or expand before- and after-school and summer learning programs that offer academic enrichment opportunities for children, particularly those attending high-poverty and low-performing schools.

As the prime recipient, the Department of Education New Hampshire has distributed sub-awards to local school districts, charter schools, and nonprofit organizations across the state. These sub-recipients have used the funds to implement a variety of educational services and programs, including: providing tutoring and academic support; offering extracurricular enrichment activities; delivering professional development for teachers; purchasing instructional materials and technology; and implementing initiatives to address learning loss caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, such as purchasing personal protective equipment, upgrading facilities, and expanding remote learning capabilities.
