The Department of Education Office of Elementary and Secondary Education awarded $117,690 to Bristow School District I-002 on July 1, 2026, under the Indian Education Grants to Local Educational Agencies program (CFDA 84.060). The award funds educational programs that address the unique culturally related academic needs of Indian students, ensure Indian students gain knowledge and understanding of Native communities, languages, Tribal histories, traditions, and cultures, and enable teachers and school leaders to provide culturally appropriate and effective instruction to Indian students. The district, located in Bristow, Oklahoma, will perform the work through June 30, 2027. Bristow School District I-002 serves a student population with particular emphasis on American Indian and Alaska Native students and has consistently received formula grants under this program to support comprehensive educational programming.
