Indian education formula grants to leas

The Bay Area American Indian Council, doing business as Indigenouse National Child & Family Agency, received a $100,058 Indian Education Formula Grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (CFDA 84.060) for the period July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. Under this award, the organization delivers comprehensive educational programs designed to address the unique cultural, linguistic, and academic needs of American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) students. Services include academic instruction, cultural programming, teacher professional development, and targeted student support services for Native American elementary and secondary students in the San Leandro, California area.

The grant supports the organization's broader mission of serving American Indian and Alaska Native communities through culturally-centered educational interventions and social services. As a minority-owned, tax-exempt nonprofit organization registered since 2009, the Bay Area American Indian Council complements its educational programming with additional therapeutic and social support services delivered through sub-awards, including therapeutic treatment services for Native American child victims of abuse and neglect. These integrated services reflect the organization's comprehensive approach to improving educational outcomes and overall well-being for Native American populations while preserving cultural heritage and promoting academic achievement aligned with state performance standards.
