Indian education formula grants to leas

Mustang Public Schools received $299,079 in formula grant funding from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Elementary and Secondary Education under the Indian Education Grants to Local Educational Agencies program (CFDA 84.060) for the period July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. This award supports comprehensive educational services designed to address the unique cultural, language, and academic needs of American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) students enrolled in the district.

The grant funds educational programs and services that enable AIAN students to meet challenging state academic standards while preserving cultural heritage. Typical funded activities include academic instruction in core subjects, culturally responsive programming, teacher professional development, and targeted student support services. Mustang Public Schools must maintain records related to grant-funded activities for three years following completion and is limited to allocating no more than 5% of grant funds toward administrative costs. The district's eligibility for this formula grant recognizes its enrollment of Indian students and commitment to providing comprehensive educational support to this specialized student population.
