Allegheny County Housing Authority will use these funds for management and operations, routine and preventative maintenance, anti-crime and anti-drug activities, security operations, energy costs, resident supportive services, insurance, debt service, and administrative and program implementation expenses associated with public housing in Allegheny County. The Authority also has access to web-based platforms utilizing real-time data to track funding levels, occupancy rates, and families served.

The Public Housing Operating Fund is a nationwide $5 billion program serving approximately 6,000 housing authorities and 902,436 households (1.59 million residents, including 44 percent elderly and 35 percent families with children). Funding is allocated to Allegheny County Housing Authority based on HUD's standardized calculation methodology using forms HUD-52723 and HUD-52722, with the Authority required to maintain an Annual Contribution Contract and Cooperative Agreement with HUD and comply with Uniform Administrative Requirements under 2 CFR Part 200.
