Description

However, programs and delivery methods are designed to address the needs of the state's underserved and underrepresented diverse populations, especially small farmers, and L imited-resource consumers. Langston university cooperative extension and outreach efforts are designed to serve as vehicles to take scholarly, peer-reviewed, and stakeholder-driven research findings, demonstrations, and education activities to the citizens of oklahoma, many of whom are underserved and still dwell on the other side of the great digital divide. All LU 1890 extension projects revolve around the approved 2022 plan of work (POW), which includes goals, expected outcomes, and impacts. Projected outcomes and results include deliverables that enhance oklahoma's citizens' economic status, health, and quality of life and make them more competitive as viable producers and consumers in niche markets and the broader global marketplace. All extension and related research activities satisfy strategic goals included in the USDA 2023-2026 strategic plan. LU-SL/saas extension program and related research and goals LU-SL/saas extension and research programs aim to generate short-term impact for people and communities by strengthening and expanding research in food, agriculture, and consumer issues. Specifically: (1) identify, seek solutions, and create an impact on current and emerging agricultural and related problems at the local, state, national, and international levels, including the improvement of farming methods and products and the improvement of people's lives and communities, especially underserved, underrepresented groups, and those with limited resources in rural and urban areas. Concepts that address climate change and environmental stewardship are discussed keenly; (2) provide experiential learning opportunities for students and other stakeholders in the food, agricultural, natural resources, and human sciences (FANH). The extension program achieves these goals by focusing on the 1890 extension project areas that are disparate yet intermingle in distinctive ways. Because of the characteristic tripartite mission of the land-grant universities, all extension projects are interconnected to LU-SL/saas research programs. The extension projects are as follows: activities: extension projects 1890 extension --federal and state match extension administration extension youth and 4-H youth development extension horticulture extension goat and sheep management extension aquaculture extension agribusiness and economic development extension communications extension community nutrition (family and consumer sciences) extension value -added product development extension soils, climate smart & environmental science
