The Town of Union received $390,410.76 in formula grant funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development, under the Home Investment Partnerships Program (CFDA 14.239) on September 25, 2025, with a completion deadline of September 30, 2034. This funding supports the development and implementation of affordable housing activities designed to expand the supply of decent housing for low- and very low-income households in Endicott, New York.
The grant enables the Town of Union to finance a range of affordable housing products and services, including rehabilitation of owner-occupied housing, homebuyer assistance, acquisition and rehabilitation of rental housing, and tenant-based rental assistance. All housing assisted through these HOME funds must meet federal income targeting and affordability requirements, with assisted units remaining affordable to low-income households for 5 to 20 years depending on the activity type and amount of HOME funding contributed. As a designated participating jurisdiction, the Town of Union is responsible for administering these funds in accordance with its Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan, subject to HUD oversight and compliance with applicable federal regulations.
