The City of Huntington Park has been awarded a $465,042.70 Formula Grant under the Home Investment Partnerships Program (CFDA 14.239), which is administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This funding will be used to finance a range of affordable housing activities in the city, including rehabilitation of owner-occupied housing, homebuyer assistance, acquisition and construction of rental housing, and tenant-based rental assistance. The grant award has an expected completion date of September 30, 2033. The Home Investment Partnerships Program aims to expand the supply of affordable housing, particularly rental housing, for low- and very low-income Americans, and to strengthen the abilities of state and local governments to design and implement strategies for achieving adequate supplies of decent, safe, and affordable housing. As a participating jurisdiction, the City of Huntington Park will be required to reserve at least 15% of the HOME funding for projects owned, developed, or sponsored by Community Housing Development Organizations.
