The Department of Housing and Urban Development Public and Indian Housing Office awarded $104,931 to Ocala Housing Authority on January 1, 2026, under the Public Housing Operating Fund program (CFDA 14.850).
The recipient funds day-to-day operational and maintenance expenses for public housing units, including property management, routine and preventative maintenance, security and anti-crime activities, energy costs, resident supportive services, insurance, and administrative and program implementation costs required under the U.S. Housing Act of 1937 and program regulations. Performance runs through December 31, 2030, in Ocala, Florida.
The Public Housing Operating Fund provides operating subsidies to housing authorities nationwide to assist in funding operating and maintenance expenses for their dwellings in accordance with Section 9 of the U.S. Housing Act of 1937. The program is a $5 billion annual appropriation distributed to approximately 6,000 housing authorities serving 1.59 million public housing residents in 902,436 households. Funding is allocated through formula based on submission of Operating Fund calculations (HUD Forms 52723 and 52722).
