About this award
County of Greenville received $248,799 in Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Program funding (CFDA 14.231) from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development, effective September 16, 2025, through September 15, 2027. This formula grant allocation supports five core program components designed to address homelessness and housing instability: street outreach services for unsheltered individuals and families; emergency shelter rehabilitation, conversion, and operations; homelessness prevention assistance; rapid re-housing services with rental and housing stabilization support; and Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) data collection and coordination activities. Additionally, administrative costs supporting program implementation are eligible under the award.
Through this funding, County of Greenville will engage homeless populations living on streets, improve emergency shelter capacity and quality, provide essential services to shelter residents, and facilitate rapid transitions to permanent housing for individuals and families experiencing housing crises. The county must maintain detailed records for five years to demonstrate compliance with 24 Code of Federal Regulations Part 576 and submit annual action plans as part of its Consolidated Plan to the HUD field office for review and approval.
