The Department of Housing and Urban Development's Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development awarded County of Washington, Pennsylvania $299,886 on September 24, 2025, under the Emergency Solutions Grant Program (CFDA 14.231), a formula grant.
The ESG program funds five components: street outreach, emergency shelter operations, homelessness prevention, rapid re-housing assistance, and Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) activities, as well as eligible administrative costs. ESG funds support engagement of homeless individuals and families living on the street, rehabilitation or conversion of buildings into emergency shelters, operating expenses for those shelters, essential services provided to shelter residents, and housing relocation and stabilization services to help homeless individuals and families move quickly into permanent housing or help at-risk households avoid homelessness.
County of Washington serves as a prime grantee for the award. Performance is expected to conclude on September 23, 2027, with work performed in Washington, Pennsylvania.
