About this award
The Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded $403,187 to DeKalb County Department of Finance on December 17, 2025, under the Emergency Solutions Grant Program (CFDA 14.231). The award funds five program components: street outreach, emergency shelter operations, homelessness prevention, rapid re-housing assistance, and homeless management information system (HMIS) activities, plus administrative costs. ESG funds support rehabilitation or conversion of buildings into emergency shelter, payment of emergency shelter operating expenses, essential services for shelter residents and unsheltered individuals, and housing relocation and stabilization services to help homeless individuals and families regain permanent housing stability.
DeKalb County, operating through its Board of Commissioners in Decatur, Georgia, administers the award as a local government entity. The period of performance runs from December 17, 2025, through December 16, 2027. Work is performed in Decatur, Georgia. The assistance type is a formula grant, allocated to eligible local governments under a fixed formula rather than through competitive selection. DeKalb County has demonstrated capacity administering prior ESG and Continuum of Care awards exceeding $1.3 million for homelessness interventions.
