The City of Canton's Department of Community Development received $224,251.00 in Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Program (CFDA 14.231) funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development, awarded on September 11, 2025, with a completion date of September 10, 2027. Under this formula grant, the City of Canton will implement five core ESG program components: street outreach services to engage unsheltered homeless individuals and families; emergency shelter rehabilitation, conversion, and operations; homelessness prevention assistance; rapid re-housing services with rental and housing stabilization support; and Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) data collection and coordination activities. Administrative activities supporting program implementation are also eligible expenditures.
