About this award

The Department of Housing and Urban Development Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development awarded the City of Orlando $220,965 under the Emergency Solutions Grant Program (CFDA 14.231) on January 5, 2026.

ESG funds support five program components: street outreach, emergency shelter operations, homelessness prevention, rapid re-housing assistance, and homeless management information systems, along with eligible administrative activities. Recipients may use funds to rehabilitate or convert buildings into emergency shelters, pay operating expenses for those shelters, provide essential services to shelter residents and unsheltered individuals, and deliver rental assistance and housing relocation services to help homeless individuals and families achieve permanent housing stability.

The award period runs through January 4, 2028, with place of performance in Orlando, Florida 32801. The City of Orlando, through its Accounting and Control Division, receives the grant as a formula allocation. ESG formula allocations are not subject to appeal; proposed projects are incorporated into the recipient's Consolidated Plan, which HUD reviews under 24 CFR 91 criteria before grant agreement execution.
