About this award
The Department of Housing and Urban Development Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development awarded the State of Alaska $235,311 under the Emergency Solutions Grant Program (CFDA 14.231) on September 15, 2025.
ESG funds support five program components: street outreach, emergency shelter operations, homelessness prevention, rapid re-housing assistance, and Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) deployment. Recipients may also use ESG funds to rehabilitate or convert buildings into emergency shelter, pay operating expenses for emergency shelters, and provide essential services to individuals and families in shelter or unsheltered settings. Administrative activities are eligible.
The State of Alaska, through its Alaska Office of the Governor, serves as the prime recipient. Performance occurs in Juneau, Alaska, with a period of performance from September 15, 2025 through September 14, 2027.
The ESG program is a formula grant that assists individuals and families to quickly regain permanent housing stability after experiencing homelessness or a housing crisis. Eligible recipients under the program consist of metropolitan cities, urban counties, territories, and states as defined in 24 CFR 576.2. ESG projects are incorporated into the grantee's Consolidated Plan, which is reviewed by the HUD field office; upon plan approval, the field office prepares the grant agreement.
