About this award

This $7,445,216 federal Formula Grant award from the Federal Transit Administration's (FTA) Federal Transit Formula Grants program (CFDA 20.507) will fund the construction of a hydrogen fueling station and related maintenance infrastructure at the Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA) facility in Livermore, California. The project will initially accommodate up to 34 hydrogen fuel-cell electric buses (FCEBs) and can be expanded to support up to 120 FCEBs in the future. This will facilitate LAVTA's transition to a fully zero-emission FCEB fleet by 2029, reducing carbon dioxide emissions from the agency's existing diesel-electric hybrid bus fleet. The grant award has an anticipated completion date of September 30, 2027. There are no sub-recipients for this award.
