About this award
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 8 awarded $5.59 million in Formula Grant funding to the State of Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments under the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) program (CFDA 66.468) on September 25, 2025, with a completion date of September 24, 2032. These funds capitalize Wyoming's DWSRF to provide low-interest financing for eligible public water systems undertaking planning, design, and construction of drinking water infrastructure improvements. The award authorizes the recipient to deploy funding for specific activities including technical assistance to small water systems, operator certification programs, and source water protection initiatives, all designed to ensure compliance with Safe Drinking Water Act requirements and protect public health throughout the state.
Under this agreement, the recipient distributes capitalization funds as low-interest loans to eligible public water systems for drinking water projects while building the technical, managerial, and financial capacity of participating systems. A sub-award issued on March 30, 2026, directed $5.59 million to the Big Horn Regional Joint Powers Board to address transmission deficiencies in systems east and south of Worland, mitigating future transmission issues for Hot Springs County.
