About this award

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded the Utah Department of Environmental Quality (UDEQ) a $7,640,000 Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) capitalization grant under CFDA 66.468. The purpose of this 3-year formula grant is to address emerging contaminants, with a focus on perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), in Utah's drinking water systems. The grant funds will be used by UDEQ to capitalize its DWSRF program, enabling the provision of low-interest loans for eligible drinking water infrastructure projects across the state. Additionally, UDEQ may use a portion of the grant for set-aside activities related to PFAS and other emerging contaminants, such as providing technical assistance to small water systems.
