About this award
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) awarded $720,000 to the Georgia Department of Transportation Division of Intermodal on June 5, 2025, under the Highway Planning and Construction program (CFDA 20.205) for preliminary engineering (PE) services associated with the Jones Bridge Park Connector pedestrian bridge project at the Chattahoochee River. This formula grant supports the planning and design phase necessary to develop the multimodal pedestrian infrastructure connecting to Jones Bridge Park in Georgia.
The City of Peachtree Corners serves as the sub-grantee for this project, receiving the funding through a sub-award executed on June 4, 2025. The Jones Bridge Park Connector project represents a pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure improvement initiative aligned with the FHWA's broader support for active transportation network development and multimodal connectivity. The preliminary engineering phase funded under this award will establish the technical foundation for the eventual construction of pedestrian bridge facilities and related improvements at the Chattahoochee River crossing location.
