- Project description
- The participating scope of work includes lane narrowing and addition of a separated two-way bicycle track with protected intersections. The reworked intersection will have W. Jefferson avenue and rosa parks boulevard meet at a 4-way signalized intersection. Rosa parks boulevard will be four lanes wide, with two travel lanes in each direction, separated by a concrete curbed median from west jefferson avenue to fort street. West jefferson avenue will be one travel lane in each direction with a turn lane separating the two travel lanes. There will be parallel parking provided along W. Jefferson avenue for vehicles to access the rcwjc park. ADA compliant sidewalks and ramps, multiple ADA compliant crossings to access the park, multiple raised mid-block crossings, a new bus stop, and bike hoops are also included in the project. The separated two-way bicycle track will be on the east side of rosa parks from the fort street and rosa parks boulevard intersection and continue east on the south side of W. Jefferson avenue to 8TH street. The cycle track follows W. Jefferson avenue along the frontage of the rcwjc park and connects bicyclists to the detroit riverfront.
