About this award

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) awarded the New York State Department of Transportation a formula grant totaling $533,994.86 on May 9, 2025, under the Highway Planning and Construction program (CFDA 20.205). This award funds culvert rehabilitation and replacement projects across multiple municipalities in Putnam and Westchester Counties, New York. The scope includes replacement of culverts carrying New York Route 100, U.S. Route 202, New York Route 117, the Saw Mill River Parkway, New York Route 6N over unknown streams and Muscoot Reservoir, and partial replacement of the culvert carrying U.S. Route 6 over Gregory Pond. Additionally, the project includes rehabilitation of the culvert carrying Interstate 684 over an unknown stream.

The funded work encompasses associated infrastructure repairs and improvements, including guiderail installation or repair, drainage system work, pavement repairs, and slope stabilization across seven identified project components. As a formula grant under the Federal-aid Highway Program authorized by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), these funds support the state's broader mission to preserve and improve the transportation network's structural integrity and public safety.
