The Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs Bureau of Justice Assistance awarded the Executive Office of the State of Kansas, Governor's Grants Program, $156,184 under the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment for State Prisoners formula grant on October 1, 2025.
The grant funds residential substance use disorder treatment programs and continuity of care services for incarcerated and detained individuals with substance use or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. The Kansas Department of Corrections, the primary sub-recipient, will sustain and enhance the existing Substance Use Recovery Program at the Women's Correctional Facility in Topeka, maintain and strengthen the program at the Men's Correctional Facility in Lansing, and sustain and expand the program at the Men's Correctional Facility in Winfield. The Governor's Grants Program will ensure that no less than 10 percent of federal funds support local jail substance use disorder treatment programs, pretrial treatment initiatives, or stand-alone aftercare services.
The period of performance runs from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2029. Place of performance is Topeka, Kansas.
