THIS AWARD WILLASSIST THE SDDOC IN PROVIDING TRAINING AND TOOLS FOR STAFF TO BEST NAVIGATE PREA INCIDENTS AND BE CONFIDENT IN THEIR ABILITIES. THERE IS ALSO A NEED TO UPDATE VISUAL AIDS SUCH AS SIGNAGE, PAMPHLETS, AND PREA RESPONSE CARDS TO ENSURE THAT ALL STAFF AND OFFENDERS HAVE ACCESS TO RESOURCES IN A MANNER THAT THAT ACCOMMODATES THEIR READING ABILITIES, LANGUAGE, AND SENSORY IMPAIRMENTS. THESE WORK PRODUCTS SERVE AS REMINDERS OF STANDARDS AND AVENUES FOR ASSISTANCE WHICH ARE A NECESSITY FOR BOTH OFFENDERS AND STAFF.
